Volunteer to become a Reading Buddy

The Reading Buddy program involves adult volunteers sitting with students and listening to them read.  Operating under the umbrella of the Edmonton Retired Teachers’ Association volunteers would dedicate a consistent block of time each week to nurture and mentor young readers.  At this time, one south-east school has agreed to pilot this program.  

We are currently accepting names of ERTA Members who are interested in volunteering to be Reading Buddies.  Volunteers will be required to complete a district volunteer form and a 1 hour training session offered by one of our ERTA members.
