ERTA members are invited to join in many events throughout the year, including beer and wine tastings, luncheons, volunteer and learning activities and the Second Wind Conference. As a member, you will receive our quarterly newsletter and invitations to our social events, including our quarterly luncheons. Honorary life memberships are conferred based on the following procedure: The Board of Directors shall delegate to a Selection Committee the responsibility for recommending honorary life membership nominees for final approval by the Board. Any member of ERTA may submit to the president, in writing by hard copy or electronically, a nomination for honorary life membership provided such nomination is submitted by May 15. To qualify for consideration for the award of honorary life membership, a candidate must be a current member of ERTA, must have been a member of the Association for at least five (5) years and must have made a significant contribution to the Association. Although an honorary membership need not be awarded each year, the designation is limited to not more than two (2) in any given year. Such awards, if any, shall be made at the September luncheon.
On the occasion of an ERTA member’s ninetieth birthday, it is customary to invite that member and a companion to be guests of the branch at the luncheon closest to that special birthday. A life membership certificate is presented to the guest of honour as a way of recognizing this event.
Membership is contingent upon the payment of the annual fee. Current members are reminded that our membership year is from the 1st of July to the 30th of June the following year. The cost is $15.00/year, $30.00 for two years or $60.00 for 5 years (5 years for the price of 4). We offer a one-year complimentary membership to new members.
